Go to dotm.gov.np → "Smart Card Driving License Print Status." Enter your full name and licence number exactly as submitted. Click Check Status.

Which Portal to Use?
Based on where you applied for your licence.
For applicants from Dang district (Rapti Province). Requires: Name + Licence Number.

chitwanyatayat.bagamati.gov.np ↗Works for all districts in Nepal. Most widely used portal. Requires: Name + Licence Number.

No result shown? Usually means not yet printed. Also try alternate name spellings — must match exactly as submitted during application.

Confirm Status Online
Use any of the three portals above. Screenshot your result as proof.
Visit Your District Transport Office
Go to the same Yatayat Karyalaya where you submitted your biometrics — not any other office.
Bring Required Documents
Receive Your Smart Card
Submit documents at the counter. Smart card issued on the spot after verification.
⚡ Digital Copy is Legally Valid
A digital screenshot from the official DOTM portal is legally valid until you receive your physical card. Traffic police recognise it as long as it shows your name, licence number, and watermark.
⚠️ Still Pending After 6 Months?
Delays are common. You can:
- Visit your issuing transport office in person
- Contact the DOTM helpline directly
- File a complaint under Nepal's "Right to Service" provision

Things to Know Before You Check
Name Must Match Exactly
Enter your name exactly as submitted. Even a minor spelling difference returns no result — try alternate spellings.
Find Your Licence Number
Your application number is on the pink/white payment receipt from the transport office. Keep it throughout the process.
Trust Online Over SMS
Confirmed cases of SMS showing "Pending" while the card was already ready. Always verify on the DOTM portal.
Check from 8-Month Mark
Start checking regularly from 8 months after your trial exam. Average wait is 6–24 months.
Screenshot Your Approval
When "Approved" appears, screenshot it immediately. Recognised by traffic police before you collect your physical card.
Use Your District Portal
Dang or Chitwan applicants should use their district portal — may show more accurate local data than the national portal.
